Can an on-duty cop get a speeding ticket?
Although this might sound strange, the answer is Yes. The officer will only be exempted if he/she is responding to a call for assistance. In this case, they must use emergency lights and sirens. Furthermore, the officer must show a level of caution.
If an officer is speeding without any justification, he/she could be legally issued a ticket. No one is above the law. They can only be exempted when attending to emergencies.
