Do you remember your daily stranger encounters often?

As they say, “first impression matters.” Based on this, there's a high possibility that I will remember strangers who show me kindness when I don't expect it or rescue me from difficult situations. Every friend I have today was once a stranger.

But the truth is, not every kindhearted stranger becomes my friend. Nonetheless, the memories of their kind gesture will remain etched on my heart — especially if that moment was life-changing.

On the other hand, if the impression counts for nothing, I'll likely not remember that encounter.

I meet strangers at different times during the day. And in some cases, I don't forget the faces of these strangers — not because I decided to remember them but because they created memory in one way or the other.

Here's the thing, there's a higher chance that I remember the faces of strangers who hurt me or showed me kindness.

However, I find it difficult to remember a stranger if there isn't an encounter. It's almost as if they don't exist.

Of course not in general because we often meet a lot of foreigners every day. Especially if we don't care about the environment. But the situation could be different if: (1) at that time we were not busy and only met a few strangers, (2) the few foreigners we met had characteristics that made a deep impression on us, and (3) we met new people the same stranger more than once.
