What's the best way for me to grow my hair thicker and longer?

Autumn is the season where hair falls out a lot. Trying to grow hair longer or get thicker hair can feel like an endless waiting game. The average rate of growth is 0.5 to 1.7 centimetres per month or anywhere from about two to eight inches per year. That growth can feel minimal — especially when you're waiting for it to happen.
These are some secrets and home remedies that grow hair fast:

  • Get frequent trims
  • Eat the right diet (food is really important for the hair health)
  • Add a hair-healthy vitamin to your a.m. routine
  • Shampoo less and hydrate more
  • Lay off the bleach
  • Avoid excessive heat styling
  • Brush hair regularly
  • Keep your showers cooler and focus on scalp care
  • Protect hair from physical damage(e.g. really tight hair ties)
  • Sleep on a silk pillowcase

If none of these seems to have a good result for you after 2 months, maybe it would be better to visit a dermatologist so your condition is better analysed. I hope this helps.

We all want to have a healthy-looking hair. A hair that’s thick, shiny, smooth and bouncy. Believe it or not, damaged, brittle and dry hair is not all because of your genetics, it is mostly on how you take care of it. There are a lot of ways you can do to help your hair grow longer and thicker naturally.

First is, you should eat healthy. Specifically something that is healthy for your hair. Eating foods with good-quality protein and good fats (omega-3s and olive oil) are essential for a thick and healthy hair. Second is to make sure you are using the right kind of shampoo and conditioner for your type of hair. If you have fine hair, you should use volume-building hair products. For more helpful tips, you can read this article.

You could also watch this video from Bright Side for natural products you can make and use for a healthier and thicker hair. I might do some myself.

Here's a hair care routine you can follow for healthy hair

Wash your hair regularly with a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.

Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week to hydrate and nourish your hair.

Avoid excessive heat styling and chemical treatments. If you do use heat styling tools, use a heat protectant spray.

Brush your hair gently, starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots, to avoid damaging or pulling out hair.

Trim your hair regularly to remove split ends and prevent further damage.

Massage your scalp regularly to improve circulation and encourage hair growth.

Protect your hair from sun, wind, and other environmental factors by wearing a hat or using a scarf.

In terms of supplements, here are a few that may benefit hair health:

Biotin: a B-vitamin that is important for healthy hair, skin, and nails.

Vitamin C: helps with collagen production and can improve hair health.

Vitamin D: plays a role in hair growth and can help prevent hair loss.

Omega-3 fatty acids: can improve the health of the scalp and hair follicles.

Zinc: is important for hair growth and can help prevent hair loss.

It's important to talk to your doctor before taking any supplements to make sure they are safe and appropriate for you. Additionally, a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals is also key to overall hair health.

Here are some tips that may help you grow your hair thicker and longer:

Eat a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins A, C, and E, and biotin, which are important for hair growth.

Avoid harsh hair treatments such as excessive heat styling, chemical treatments, and tight hairstyles that can cause breakage.

Massage your scalp regularly to improve circulation, which can encourage hair growth.

Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.

Reduce stress through activities such as exercise, meditation, or yoga.

Trim your hair regularly to remove split ends and prevent further damage.

Avoid tight hairstyles, such as tight braids or ponytails, that can cause breakage.

Protect your hair from heat and UV rays by wearing a hat or using a scarf.

Remember, everyone's hair grows at a different rate, so patience is key. It may also be helpful to consult with a hair specialist or dermatologist if you have concerns about hair growth or hair loss.

Less heat ( don't use curling irons).

Use oil; apply coconut oil on you hair ( from root to the very ends of your hair), to retain length.

Don't brush your hair too often, it's weakens the ends and causes breakage; use wide toothed comb if you must.

To grow your hair you really need to look into your diet. I would suggest taking vit c rich fruits like berries and amla that strengthen your hair. You could also take a vitamin capsule for hair growth. Other than that, see that you eat more natural foods like fruits and veggies and less processed and junk food. Also, use shampoos that are free from sulphates and parabens. Use less of heating tools on your hair like straightners and curlers. Use a microfiber towel to dry your hair.
