If you're working from home, there are a few Windows, computer, and Slack settings you can configure to where it looks like you're at your desk when you're not. One of the more simplified is to set your computer to never go to sleep. Other settings are discussed in the following link.

I take no responsibility for any consequences you face if caught using settings to make yourself look busy.

Mouse clickers/jigglers became popular when remote work became more common. They can click your mouse while you're away from your computer, making any tracking apps show activity on your end. I will say a lot of companies have caught on to this fact, so use it at your own risk. You can buy them on Amazon.

Whether you're trying to impress your boss, attract new clients, or simply blend in with your colleagues, appearing active at work is essential for your professional growth. In this post, we'll explore some effective tips on how to stay active at work even when you're not feeling your best.

Prioritize Your Tasks

When you're feeling unproductive, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of tasks on your to-do list. To avoid feeling like you're drowning in work, prioritize your tasks by order of importance. Identify the most critical tasks that need to be completed and focus your energy on those first. Once you've completed the essential tasks, move on to the less urgent ones.

Take Short Breaks

Taking short breaks throughout the day can help you recharge and refocus your energy. If you're struggling to stay active at work, try taking a five-minute break every hour or so. During your break, step away from your desk, stretch your legs, and take some deep breaths. You'll come back feeling refreshed and ready to tackle your next task.

Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is essential for maintaining your energy levels and staying focused. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. If you find plain water boring, try adding some fresh fruit or herbs to your water bottle for some added flavor.

Dress the Part

Your appearance can have a significant impact on how others perceive you at work. Even if you're feeling tired or unmotivated, dressing professionally and put-together can make you appear more active and engaged. Choose clothing that is comfortable, yet polished, and avoid anything too casual or sloppy.

Stay Positive

Maintaining a positive attitude can help you stay motivated and engaged, even on days when you're not feeling your best. Try to focus on the positive aspects of your job, and remind yourself of your accomplishments and successes. Surround yourself with positive coworkers, and avoid negative or toxic colleagues who can drag you down.

Use Productivity Tools

There are plenty of productivity tools available that can help you stay organized and on track. From task management apps to calendar tools, there are many options to choose from. Find a tool that works for you and use it to stay focused and productive.
