According to this Hawaiian Vacation Guide vlog, it depends on what you want to do on your vacation, you can choose from these 4 larger islands in Hawaii.

Kauai – it is less populated that’s why it is quieter. Visit this island if you want to experience wild and untamed Hawaii.
Maui – it is known for whale watching and for having the best beaches in the world. There are lots of things to do here. However, it is one of the most expensive Hawaiian Island. If you have the budget, this island is best for luxury vacation.
Hawai’i – it is the biggest island in Hawaii. You can go manta ray snorkeling, you can also go to a coffee plantation, Volcano National Park, etc.
Oahu – it is the most populated island that’s why it is crowded. But it’s got everything. It’s full of culture, nightlife and a lot of things to do. In this island you’ll find Pearl Harbor and the famous Waikiki Beach.

If you’re still undecided, you can also read this article for more information on what’s the best island for you.
